Acne Scar Healing

Acne Peel

When an outbreak of acne has not healed well and infection is severe there is the possibility that scarring may occur. There are several kinds of acne scar, the most common being ice pick scars, they appear as deep pits and are a classic sign of acne scarring. Other scar types familiar to acne sufferers include box car scars, rolling scars and pigmented scars.

Acne Peel

There are a variety of options open to us when dealing with scarring. These can range from simple try at home remedies right up to consultations with dermatologists. Whilst a scar caused by acne is not in itself a matter of great medical concern and does not threaten the health of the sufferer, people are naturally concerned about their physical appearance and so finding efficient methods of acne scar healing is very important to them.

Acne Peel

One popular option is the use of fillers. This is where fats or collagen are used to fill up the scarring left by acne. Regarded as one of the safer healing methods it can be very successful but unfortunately is not a permanent solution. The injected fat or collagen can be absorbed by the body in as little as six to eight weeks and the scarring will start to appear once again. It is still relatively safe to inject more fillers and this can be done as soon as the fats and collagens from previous treatments have been absorbed.

Acne Peel

Another popular treatment method is the use of dermabrasion and microdermabration. They work to diminish the appearance of acne scars by scrubbing away the uppermost layer of skin. It is an effective treatment but can play havoc on sensitive skin and is also a relatively expensive option. A similar treatment option is a chemical peel, this uses harsh chemicals to remove the upper layer of skin leaving behind newer skin with less of the scarring.

For those not working to a tight budget then laser resurfacing may be an option. Using laser technology the layer of skin that has the most scarring is removed and the next layer is then heated up. This encourages the formation of new skin and helps to diminish the appearance of scars. Although again very effective as mentioned earlier it is not a cheap option with treatments costing around ,500.

Acne scar healing can be an expensive and painful process. It should be said that much of the scarring suffered can be avoided. Rather than waiting for any acne treatment they may be using to do its job, people become impatient and attempt to speed up the process by tackling the acne themselves. It is when sufferers attempt to pop spots or cysts that scarring can occur, therefore I would advise that you allow any acne treatment you are using to do its job.

Six Smoothie Recipes For Constipation and Acne Relief

Acne Peel

I recommend drinking a morning smoothie if you have constipation or if you have skin problems like acne. Drinking a high fiber smoothie relieves and prevents constipation. It will also provide the nutrients that are necessary for having or keeping a nice clean and smooth skin.

Acne Peel

So, here are the six smoothie recipes you can blend.

Acne Peel

* Apple Smoothie
* Apple-Barley Smoothie
* Apricot Smoothie
* Peach-Rice Dream Smoothie
* Pineapple Smoothie
* Strawberry Smoothie

Acne Peel

Apple Smoothie

Mix in the blender the following.

1-2 small apples cut into wedges
1 banana
1 cup 50:50 rice dream: almond milk
¼ cup or less of raisins soaked overnight
1-teaspoon honey
1-2 cubes of ice
1-teaspoon lecithin granules
2 tablespoons flax seed oil

Start by mixing the banana and the liquids. Then add slices of apples to get the consistency you like. In all of your smoothies add flax seed oil for nice smooth skin. I also add a tablespoon of flax seed straight into the blender and the blender will chop them up.
Apple-Barley Smoothie

Mix in the blender the following.

1 cup of sliced apples with peel
1/2 cup of cooked barley
1/4 cup of soaked raisins
1/4 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring
1-1 ½ cup of 50:50 rice dream: almond milk
1-teaspoon lecithin granules
2 Tablespoons flax seed oil

Make sure you use the lecithin granules in these smoothies since lecithin helps to breakdown the flax oil into tiny droplets and makes it more digestible.

Apricot Smoothie

One cup of fresh apricots or dried apricots that were soaked overnight
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Two oz. of prune juice
One teaspoon or more of oat ban
One teaspoon of mineral whey
One tablespoon of flax seed oil
One tablespoon of lecithin granules

Add a slight amount of distilled water or ice cubes to make the consistency to your liking. This smoothie is good for constipation and acne.

Peach-Rice Dream Smoothie

Mix in the blender:

2 fresh peaches with peel
1-cup rice dream
1/2 banana
1-teaspoon sesame seeds
1-teaspoon sunflower seed
1-tablespoon lecithin granules
2 tablespoons flax seed oil

In place of rice dream you can use almond milk. I now only use almond milk to make my smoothies. Place all of the seeds straight into the blender. This smoothie has plenty of fiber. You may want to increase the amount of sesame and sunflower seeds.

Pineapple Smoothie

Mix the following in a blender.

1-2 cups of fresh pineapples
1/2 cups apple slices
1/4-cup fresh apple juice
1/2-cup almond milk (more or less as needed)
1 banana
1-tablespoon lecithin
2-tablespoons flax seeds
2 teaspoons bran (wheat, oat or rice)

You can add more lecithin if you like. Lecithin does not have a taste. This smoothie is jam packed with fiber.

Strawberry Smoothie

Mix in a blender the following ingredients.

1 banana
1-tablespoon of lecithin granules
1-teaspoon of any type of bran
1 cup or more 50:50 rice dream: almond milk
Now add strawberries one by one with the blender on until you get the consistency you like.
1-tablespoon flax seeds
1 or 2 tablespoons sunflower seeds
1-teaspoon sesame seeds
1 tablespoon of flax seed oil

You can add liquid minerals or vitamins to these smoothies and give them an additional nutritional value.

There you have the smoothies that I make. Start making and drinking them and see the health benefits that you'll get.

Coca-Cola Causes Acne - Fact or Myth?

Acne Peel

Now this question may not be as famous as the idea that chocolate causes acne but it still gets a lot of people wondering about it. You already stopped eating something you love as much as chocolate because of one of these old house wives tales and I am sure you don't really want to stop drinking one of your favorite soft drinks and find this to just be nothing more than a myth. So before you stop drinking coca-cola you should probably read this first and then you decide.

Acne Peel

Now the first thing that you really have to understand is what are the causes of acne and acne breakouts and what are the factors that help contribute to causing acne. Acne starts when sebum oil, which is produced naturally to moisturize the skin, gets trapped underneath the skin. This can happen for any reason, such as the pores in the skin might be clogged by an over production of the oil, or simply from the top of the skin for some reason. At any rate this clogged pore is the start to a pimple, when you pop it you release the excess oil in the pore and the skin goes back to normal. Acne is really caused by hormonal activity as the production of sebum oil is affected by the level of hormones in the body so Coca-Cola really cannot be a contributory reason towards the cause of acne.

Acne Peel

So you can feel safe and free to drink as much Coca-Cola as you want to now that you know that it can't cause acne, but watch out for those calories because it's still very capable of causing weight gain. The next time you should hear one of these myths or tale you should get a little facts about it before you go throw out something you enjoy eating or drinking.

Acne Peel

Even though coca-cola cannot cause acne by itself a bad diet will. A bad diet will cause acne simply because certain foods such as fat, sugar and others are capable of affecting your hormone production and this will lead to an over production of sebum oil and an acne situation. It does not really matter what you eat once you are eating right and have balance in your diet because a reasonable amount of any food won't cause acne problems, but an overall bad diet will so just remember to eat right and this should ease up your acne problem or help prevent it from getting worse.

Acne Homemade Remedies - Some Homemade Remedies to Make Acne Disappear

Acne Peel

Like everything else there are Acne homemade remedies, which maybe old wives tales but usually prove more effective than stronger medications. Homemade remedies may be slow to relieve symptoms but are long lasting and less harsh than other treatment.

Acne Peel

It would surprise you as to how many acne homemade remedies you will be able to find in your kitchen and how affective they will prove to be. Actually an acne homemade remedy may prove to be much more beneficial than all the medicated stuff you have put on your face and swallowed so far. Acne Peel

Keeping the skin clean and toned is quite a simple task at home; all it takes is for a sliced tomato or lemon to be rubbed on your face both morning and evening and you will see the difference this makes as it closes the pores and prevent infection and cysts from forming on the skin. Some other soothing ingredients are garlic paste and mint juice which can also be used on insect stings and also on grazes and cuts. Other acne homemade remedies include the pulp of raw papaya and orange peels which should be made into a paste and applied on the pimples and infected areas of acne.

Acne Peel

Though most of these form the basis of many creams and lotions that are available over the counter, used in their natural form may take a little longer to show results but will be much less harsh on your skin in the long run. Though slow, they will not harm your skin in any way. So if you have tried a lot of medicated products and have not felt much relief, now is the time to get the ingredients from you kitchen to help you with your acne homemade remedies.

This does not mean that all commercially produced products are not going to help you with your acne, it is just that you would rather try out a safer and a definitely cheaper method which will not have any harsh side affects if used over a long period of time. This is what acne homemade remedies are about. So get started and if some thing is missing in your kitchen visit your grocery store right away.

Choosing the Best Acne Scar Removal Products

Acne Peel

Acne is one of the most difficult skin problems which people have to endure. Sometimes there are scars left on the skin even after the problem of acne has been taken care of. There are many teenagers as well as adults who have acne scars on their skin and this lowers their self confidence and also gives them a feeling of degradation. If you are one such person, don't worry there are many acne scar removal products to completely remove your scar.

Acne Peel

There are many different methods and acne scar removal products, which have been devised for the removal of acne scars but not all these methods have proven to be completely effective in the process of acne scars removal.

Acne Peel

The process of removal of acne scars on the skin can prove to be very challenging mainly because the scars will come in the deepest layers of the skin. There are many people who are afflicted with very severe cases of acne and this will affect the innermost layers of the skin and also create an impact on the skin tissue and cause lesions. There are many people who are suffering from acne who have only very mild scars while there are some people suffering from acne who have very severe lesions which have ruined their appearance and complexion. These types of scars can easily be removed with acne scar removal products.

Acne Peel

Many people suffering from acne resort to the usage of acne scar removal products like makeup and concealer, which help them in hiding their scars. But they should also understand that this is only a temporary solution and this will not take care of the problem in all respects. Laser treatment, chemical peels, Dermabrasion, acne scar removal creams and lotions and application of Vitamin E to the skin are some of the most common methods of the removal of acne scars. This is also known to help in the healing of the skin tissues.

A high-powered laser is another acne scar removal product to treat acne scar. Laser treatment is used to remove the layer of the skin, which has been damaged. The middle layer is made tighter so that the skin can heal. Special chemicals and tools are used in the process of chemical peeling and Dermabrasion in order to remove the outermost layer of the skin. This will also pave the way for new and fresh skin cells, which will also help in reducing the appearance of acne scars.

Vitamin E as well as acne scar removal creams and lotions are some of the other acne scar removal products which are applied on the skin in order to make the acne scars on the skin fade away.

But not all these methods are effective at all points in time. All these methods and acne scar removal products may not help in the removal of acne scars.  Laser treatments, chemical peels and Dermabrasion are only providing a temporary solution and the acne scars can become visible once again. The products, which are meant for the removal of acne scars, are given a lot of publicity and they are not as effective as they promise.

People who want acne scar removal products, which are not very complicated, should realize that there are very few products, which contain the right ingredients that will actually treat the acne scars and also help in providing a glowing complexion. There are many products which contain fruit and vegetable extracts like blueberry, pomegranate, Goji, grape seed extract, hydrolyzed elastin, and soluble collagen which will give your skin a whole new life.

How to Find Your Best Treatment For Acne

Acne Peel

If you are wondering how to find the best treatment for acne, then this article can provide you with some helpful advice. Those who suffer from acne do so in varying degrees and each many have different triggers to their acne, therfore it is advisable to know about the various successful treatments for acne so that you can find the best treatment for you. There are various types of treatments for acne such as spot creams and lotions, nutritional handlings, natural treatments, medication and even surgical treatments for acne scarring. After reading this article you will have a general understanding of each and be able to choose the best treatment for you.

Acne Peel

A large percentage of people suffer from acne at one point in their life and many people turn to the various acne lotions and creams which are widely available. Some of these creams and lotions are effective - especially for the milder forms of acne. However, it is important to bear in mind that these creams and lotions are simply handling the problem on the surface and are not correcting the main cause of the problem. Also, the price of the product does not necessarily match it's effectiveness! Avoid buying expensive products if you can unless you know of someone for whom they have been effective. If you choose to try one of the many skin care products available it is also advisable that you see a nutritionist and maybe a dermatologist also to help locate and handle underlying causes. There are also some helpful information products on treating acne available if you do not want to splash out money on seeing a specialist.

Acne Peel

The next type of common treatment for acne is medication from your doctor. There are various medications available from your doctor but these are usually limited to the more serious forms of acne due to the side effects of the medication. Some of the common acne medications include: antibiotics, the oral contraceptive pill, Isotretinoin and Nicotinamide. Antibiotics can be effective but the body can only take short periods on antibiotics and so this may not be a long term solution. The Oral contraceptive can prove helpful for women who are suffering from acne due to a hormonal imbalance. Isotretinoin and Nicotinamide are medications often used by doctors for acne but Isotretinoin can have negative side effects ranging from peeling skin to severe depression and so are reserved for the treatment of more serious acne. Medication can play a role in handling acne but is usually used in more serious cases. It is advisable to attempt to handle acne without medications if possible through the use of proper nutrition, skin care and maintaining good skin hygiene.

Acne Peel

There are also surgical procedures available for the handling of acne scaring such as dermabrasion and chemical peels. Dermabrasion is a cosmetic medical procedure whereby the surface of the skin is removed by abrasion and it can be used to lessen scars. It is very painful and is usually done under a general anesthetic. Chemical peels can improve the texture of the skin by using a chemical solution that causes the skin to blister and peel off. Acne scarring can get worse if left for a long time and so it is best to try and treat it as soon as possible - prevention really is the best cure! If you have acne and fear you may have some scarring, it is best to source out some natural treatments first before you resort to surgical procedures. Many natural treatments are effective and surgical procedures should be turned to as a last resort.

Finding the best treatment for acne for you depends a great deal on how severe your acne is and upon which particular factors could be causing and aggravating it for you. Many people benefit from skin care products but these do not get to the bottom of the problem and provide a temporary solution only. Medications and surgical treatments can be effective but are generally only advised for the more serious cases. If you are a woman and think you may have a hormonal imbalance, the oral contraceptive may be of help but most women do not have a hormonal imbalance. Due to the side effects of medication, it is advised that you attempt to find a natural solution first. Again, medications often only offer a temporary solution and do not get the root of the problem. My advice is to seek a natural solution to acne if possible as handling nutrition, nutritional deficiencies, intolerances and allergies as well as finding out about life style changes you can make to avoid possible acne triggers can go a long way in handling your acne for good without the use of harsh chemicals or medications!

Acne Scar Skin Care - Great Tips That Help

Acne Peel

If your face is covered with acne scars, you need to take special precautions to minimize the potential for further scarring. You need to learn about special acne scar skin care that will help your sensitive skin.

Acne Peel

Skin that is damaged by acne scars requires very gentle products. Make sure you choose cleansers or lotions that are not abrasive. If you wash your face too roughly or use abrasive products, your skin will become even more irritated. You should also make sure to use sunscreen that is oil-free whenever you venture outside. Oil-based products will clog your pores even further and make the acne even worse.

Acne Peel

Using peels on a regular basis is another way to help reduce acne scarring. Most peels contain a low percentage of salicylic acid which will help to improve your skin condition. You should use a peel 1 to 3 times per week and maintain the regimen over an extended period of time for best results.

Acne Peel

In addition to gentle cleaning products, you should use products specifically made for treating acne scars. These items are usually available in cream or gel form and are made to reduce the appearance of your scars. Many cosmetics and health care companies now offer their own brand of products to combat acne scars. You should conduct some research on the internet or ask a dermatologist which product may be right for your particular acne scars.

Some acne scar skin care products may even feature ingredients to help lighten the color of the scars, making them less visible to the eye. For example, products featuring prescription hydroquinone and glycolic acid are available at your local pharmacy. These will reduce the dark brown areas resulting from certain acne scars. You can also try a lightener that is available over-the-counter if your facial discoloration is not as pronounced.

The earlier you begin taking steps to treat your acne scars, the less likelihood you will develop severe permanent scarring later on in life. You can start to use gentle cleansers, oil-free sunscreens, weekly peels and acne treatment creams. With time and effort, your scars should eventually start to fade.
